Application Procedure
Required Documents
It is important that you arrange all your documents in the following order, without any binding. Please note that we will not return any application document. A complete application must include the following:

Four copies of application forms
The application form can ONLY be filled in and printed online. Please go to online application system. |

3. |
Two photocopies of the original diploma
• Undergraduate program applicants: high school diploma (or above)
• Master's program applicants: Bachelor's degree diploma (or above)
• PhD program applicants: Master's degree diploma (or above)
If you are a graduating student, you do not have to submit your diplomas at this stage. However, once admitted, you must be able to submit your diplomas at the time of registration; if not, your admission will be cancelled. |

Two copies of the English or Chinese translations of the original diploma (if applicable; at least one original)
This is only required when the original diploma issued by your institution is written in a language other than Chinese or English. Translation of the diploma is not required if you can provide a certification of degree conferral (either in Chinese or English) issued by the original institution. |

5. |
Two transcripts of study records issued by the institution (at least one original)
The transcript of study records is a detailed history of your academic record at the institution. It shows all topics you've studied and the grades you've received.
• If you are applying for an Undergraduate program: high school (or above) transcripts of study records.
• If you are applying for a Master's program: Bachelor's (or above) degree transcripts of study records.
• If you are applying for a PhD program: Master's (or above) degree transcripts of study records. |

6. |
Two English or Chinese translations of the original transcript of study records (if applicable; at least one original)
This is only required when the original transcript of study records issued by your institution is written in a language other than Chinese or English.
*Once admitted, foreign diplomas and transcripts of study records must be verified by the Taiwan’s overseas representative office in the region or country of the institution. If there is no Taiwan’s overseas representative office in the region or country, please go to a nearby Taiwan’s overseas representative office. |

7. |
Two letters of recommendation
Please submit at least two different letters of recommendation. They should be written by your teacher or your employer. All recommendation letters must be written in Chinese or English. A suggested format can be downloaded here: Sample of Recommendation Form. |

8. |
Proof of Language Proficiency (if applicable)
Language requirements vary between departments and institutes. You can check your department's lanuage requirements online. Please see the Additional Requirements. |

9. |
Additional requirements by the intended department and institute (if applicable)
You can find information on your department's (or institute's) additional admission requirements here: Additional Requirements.
Please note that some departments or institutes require additional oral or written exams. |

10. |
Other reference documents (if applicable)
You are free to attach extra documents for our reference if they are helpful for admission (for example: Certificate Examination, awards, etc.). |

11. |
Financial statement
If you are a scholarship award winner, you must include documented proof. If not, you should include a bank statement showing a balance of at least TWD 300,000 (USD 9,500). The statement should be issued by the bank after November 01, 2012. If the bank statement is not in your name, you must include a declaration signed by the sponsor, mentioning the relationship between the sponsor and you, and guaranteeing to be responsible for all of your expenses in Taiwan. Declaration form
After you have filled in your online application form, the declaration form will be automatically generated. |

Authorization form
After you have filled in your online application form, the authorization form will be automatically generated. |

14. |
Application fee (non-refundable)
If paying from Taiwan: TWD 2,000/If paying from abroad: USD 80 (we do not accept other currencies).
We will process your application after we receive payment of the application fee.
Please note that, once paid, the application fee cannot be refunded.
Instruction for payment
If paying within Taiwan 
an invoice will be generated after you have filled in the online application form. Please make the payment by wire transfer directly at the banks or via ATMs in Taiwan. Attach a copy of the transaction receipt in the application package. DO NOT send CASH nor CHECKS.

Applicants who are qualified pursuant to Section II, Article Two of the Ministry of Education’s “Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan” will need to submit the aforementioned documents (see Required Documents Table). 18. |
Priority list (if applicable)
You may apply to a maximum of 3 departments or institutes at the same time. In this case, please DUPLICATE the whole application package, including the application fee, for each intended department or institute. You must also submit a Priority List. Once you've filled in the online application form, the form will be generated automatically. |
Notes:
-
If you provide translated documents, the translation must be verified by an authorized organization (such as one of Taiwan’s overseas representative office or diplomatic mission in your country or recognized translation agency). In other words, you would need to provide two verified documents and two verified translation of the original documents.

When it is specified that the original documents are required, it is recommended to provide them; it is the applicant’s own responsibility should the result of the application process be affected.

Application deadline

The application package must arrive (remote areas are recommended to use DHL or FedEx services) to the following address by March 07, 2013. Applications received after the deadline will not be processed.

The application package are being accepted by the OIA between 9.30am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 4pm (Monday to Friday, excluding national holidays).
