Explore Taiwan’s exceptional Biodiversity, Agriculture and Culture

+Take university courses on the Biodiversity and Agricultureof Taiwan, an attractive blend of well-preserved Chinese heritage and cosmopolitan influences

 

Straddling northeast and southeast Asia at a point where Asia meets the Pacific, Taiwan has captured the interest of biodiversity researchers and nature lovers. The island is home to an abundance of tropical plants, animals and birds, some of which found to be in nowhere else on the earth.Two thirds of Taiwan are covered with natural forests, and more than 200 peaks rise above 10,000 ft (3,000 m).

NTU’s Summer+ “Plus Three” program is held by the College of Bioresources and Agriculture. It combinesBiodiversity & Agriculture exploration with thought-provoking Exploring Taiwan academic courses conducted by experienced university professors. Taught in English, the Exploring Taiwan courses help you to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s fauna, flora, agriculture, and cultural heritage and aim to provide a broad, well-rounded summer experience.

 

Get to know Taiwan’s biodiversity, agriculture and culture

Explore natural sites from coast to mountains up to 10,500 ft (3,200 m) high

Visit an animal rescue center, an intertidal zone, a coastal cliff, an aboriginal tribe, and much more

Visit the National Palace Museum, animal rescue center, intertidal zone and aboriginal tribe

The National Palace Museumis one the largest museums in the world. It encompasses over 8,000 years of Chinese history. Most of the collections are high quality pieces collected by China’s emperors.

 

 

 

       

 

Credits

A transcript of 4 credits will be offered; credit recognition by your home university is required.

Housing

NTU Dorm on the campus and accommodations outside Taipei during the field trip.

 

Who Can Apply

 If you are a university student, you can applyfor the BACT Program – note that assessment of your application is required once you submit the document to the Center for International Agricultural Education & Academic Exchanges. If you are a student in one of NTU’s partner universities, please submit your application via the study abroad program office of your university.
